“Houston We Have A Problem”

Earth Rise is one of many great designs over at Public Domain Clothing.com. I particularly like this shirt because so many brands have a skull t-shirt, but nobody’s taken it to this level. This shirt is 100% unique, I would love to know how they even came up with this concept, well done guys.

I own this shirt, and I have to say it’s really nice. I get at least 2 or 3 compliments every time I wear this shirt out. With that said, I’ll give you the breakdown:

• Brand: Public Domain Clothing.com
• Sizes: Small -XL
• Color: Black
• Make: 100% Cotton
• Shirt Brand: Appears to be American Apparel (they have their own printed tag)
• Shirt Style: Fitted, Soft
• Printing Method: Appears to be a screen print
• Print Hand: Soft Hand
• Print Location: Full front
• Category: Designer Tee
• Sex: Unisex
• Price: $25.00
• Shipping/Handling: $7:50 – 11 days to process and ship order, few days after shipped.
• Discount Code: TAKE40  - 40 percent off your order

My personal review of the ordering process and shirt itself.

Let me start out by saying that this is one of the most impressive shirt designs I’ve seen in some time. I’m impressed everyday by so many artists and designers in so many ways, but to take a skull design and end up with something like this is truly original and unique. That’s kind of like a double negative, but positive, I guess… either way, this is a very nice shirt.

Now on to the ordering process…

I went to PublicDomainClothing.com which sells this shirt. They have a good collection of interesting shirts, but I was there to buy Earth Rise. I clicked on the thumbnail for this shirt and saw that it was $25.00, no problem. For an original tee like this I’d have paid more. As I proceeded through the checkout process I was lucky enough to receive 10% off of my purchase which was a plus.

When I got to the shipping & handling cost it was $7.50 for first class USPS, which is usually about $2.60 domestic (shipping). I was informed that orders may take up to 14 days to be processed (if in short stock). In addition to that the site says shipping can take 7-10 days with first class USPS. On the USPS site it states that mail will be delivered in 2-9 days. It’s never taken more than 5 days for me to receive anything shipped USPS First Class once the order has been shipped. This irritated me a bit because I was likely going to have to wait an extended period of time for my order to be processed and shipped, yet I was paying almost $5.00 for a “handling” charge, $7.50 S&H charge minus the USPS First Class shipping of approximately $2.60.

In the end I ordered my shirt on April 16th and received an email confirmation that my order had been shipped on April 27th, that is 11 days. I received my package a few days later for a total of almost 15 days total from the time I ordered the shirt. I dont like the fact that I paid about $5.00 for a handling fee to wait on my shirt for half a month. This leads me to speculate that they keep a lower inventory and allow orders to build up and print runs once more orders are filled. I have no facts to back this, but I dont know any other reason why it would take so long to fill an order.

With that said, I love the shirt, it’s an amazing design and the silk screening quality on the shirt it great. Very soft hand print, 100% cotton fitted shirt that is soft to the touch and I get a lot of complements…

Overall I’m really satisfied with the purchase, PublicDomainClothing.com could work on their processing/shipping process, the shirt was worth the wait, but the handling fee was ridiculous.

One last thing I forgot to add, the shirt almost appears charcoal grey or deep dark grey in all the images. The shirts description on the site says “black” but it’s a bit confusing as what you’re getting because the example image doesn’t quite look black… Still very satisfied, but wanted to share.

Anyone else have any comments or feedback?

You say the shirt ‘almost appears charcoal grey or deep dark grey in all the images. The shirts description on the site says “black”’.

The question is: Its grey in the images and the description says ‘black’, what color does it really look.

It’s black. I’ll make it more clear in the review. I do have it as “black” in the line item list. I was just trying to say that it appears more of a charcoal grey online but the shirt is actually black.
