Anonymous Mona
The Anonymous Mona t-shirt from Young Lovers Label is an interesting design. Most everyone is familiar with the Mona Lisa but removing her face inspires one to interpret it to their own taste. I personally interpret this one as we are all faceless or fleeting. We’re here for a moment of time and shouldn’t sweat the details. I say this because we know nothing about the Mona Lisa as a person, only the painting. If she is real, what was her life like, what kind of person was she? We recognize her because we’ve been taught to, had it not been for this painting we’d never have known of her. By removing her face it creates some anonymity, allowing one to either imagine themselves immortalized or coming to the realization that we are all faceless in some way and shouldn’t sweat the unimportant things… Ok, enough deep stuff…
